What Activities will Do When We Come to a Psychiatrist

If you are asked to come to a psychiatrist by your friend, what about your answer? You might say "Why did the psychiatrist, So I'm crazy?" . May also "Why are you asking me to come to a psychiatrist, whether I would be better if I go there?". Others say "I know I need a psychiatrist, but I'm afraid of dependency with the medication".

For most of Indonesia, the psychiatrist may be is something that should be shunned for being human life. With a strong stigma still attached to mental illness and the profession, including psychiatrists, it is rather difficult to make people aware of seeing a psychiatrist, although clearly having psychiatric disorders.

Although awareness of the need to consult a psychiatrist as it went, but these new conditions are at particular communities. Some are still looking at mental illness is something that is good enough by himself and resigned his treatment. Below, I'll do a little outline of what the psychiatrist to the patients who come to the first consultation session which typically range between 30-40 minutes.

1. Let the patient tell his complaint and background pain

Patients who had come to see a psychiatrist usually will ask the chief complaint that makes the patient came to see him. Psychiatrists will usually let patients tell of complaints and background of the pain. Sometimes patient confusion to start a conversation, the condition is usually a psychiatrist could help direct the patient to tell what the complaint and its background.

2. Ask for additional information related to complaints of pain and physical examination

After letting the patient tell you, the next patient will be asked questions which if asked to complete the course of the disease history of patients, so that psychiatrists could lead to a specific diagnosis. This information is critical and can be obtained directly from patients or their families. Physical examination is also performed to patients with psychiatric disorders. I always check the patient's physical, without exception, each comes control. Although I understand there are psychiatrists who do not do this because it may assume the patient is a patient who came to him without any physical disorder.

3. Explained to the patient about the causes / triggers of the pain
Although until recently most psychiatric disorders have not found why, but the psychiatrist will usually explain what is happening in the brain associated with illness. Psychiatrists will also explain how the condition affects the condition of biopsychosocial illness. This biopsychosocial concept that would normally be the basis of information about the pain suffered by patients.

4. Treatment plan

Psychiatrists will then plan what to do regarding the condition of the patients experienced. Can include drug therapy and also the implementation of psychotherapy psikofarmaka consisting of several sessions. This condition depends on the patient. Each patient is unique and has a different approach. Psychiatrists would also invite the patient to ask about what has He explained, including in relation to drug use.

5. Gives conclusions and an opportunity to ask
The psychiatrist will provide conclusions about the condition of the patient and the opportunity to ask questions about things related to the condition being treated. Once everything is clear then the psychiatrist will close the interview and schedule another meeting.

Surely what is written above is sometimes not the same for every psychiatrist. Psychiatrist approach each course is different and adapted to the patient's condition at that time. If such patients are being invited in a state of acute anxiety and have a very, of course, the interview process will be delayed and the more advanced therapies.

So also when a patient who was quiet, then the family can help in the interview. But in essence, what was asked in accordance with the above information. Time spent in practice psychiatrist is also diverse. I myself was in private practice using a time about 30-40 minutes for new patients to control patients, while about 15-30 minutes. These conditions differ for each service.

It is impossible to check the number of 60 patients at a government hospital with a respective time each patient was 30 minutes. So of course doctors working in each ministry has been able to modify the service to keep produce optimum service. Hope this helps a little sharing of work to understand the psychiatrist.

vivanews.com
Detected earlier, autism can be more quickly dealt with. American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that examination of  autism symptoms in children between the ages of 18 months to 2 years. Tests of autism reported by the American Academy of Pediatrics takes up to two hours.

However, today a new study from Emory University and Georgia Tech offers a faster way, namely to test the detection of autism in just five minutes.

This process is called 'Rapid Attention Back and Forth Communication Test', or so-called "Rapid ABC". This technique can be done in just five minutes through the involvement of children in simple activities through communication.

This test is not a substitute for a comprehensive examination of autism, but can identify children at risk for autism naturally in their early development. If it detected a parent can give them treatment early enough to overcome the problem of autism, as quoted from the site Momlogic.

Dr. Alana Levine, pediatrician said, "autism spectrum disorder symptoms include disturbances in social interaction and communication. But, it could also characterized by unusual behavior. Like, repetitive movements, and lack of eye contact," She said.

Dr. Levine also noted that if you suspect your child may have autism, the test "Rapid ABC's" only early detection tests, and need to be followed by a full diagnostic test for evaluation of overall emotional and physical.

Currently, a 5-minute technique to detect autism in children is still perfecting the process, before it is taught to the hospitals.
