Rapid ABC for Early Detection of Autism in Five Minutes

vivanews.com
Detected earlier, autism can be more quickly dealt with. American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that examination of  autism symptoms in children between the ages of 18 months to 2 years. Tests of autism reported by the American Academy of Pediatrics takes up to two hours.

However, today a new study from Emory University and Georgia Tech offers a faster way, namely to test the detection of autism in just five minutes.

This process is called 'Rapid Attention Back and Forth Communication Test', or so-called "Rapid ABC". This technique can be done in just five minutes through the involvement of children in simple activities through communication.

This test is not a substitute for a comprehensive examination of autism, but can identify children at risk for autism naturally in their early development. If it detected a parent can give them treatment early enough to overcome the problem of autism, as quoted from the site Momlogic.

Dr. Alana Levine, pediatrician said, "autism spectrum disorder symptoms include disturbances in social interaction and communication. But, it could also characterized by unusual behavior. Like, repetitive movements, and lack of eye contact," She said.

Dr. Levine also noted that if you suspect your child may have autism, the test "Rapid ABC's" only early detection tests, and need to be followed by a full diagnostic test for evaluation of overall emotional and physical.

Currently, a 5-minute technique to detect autism in children is still perfecting the process, before it is taught to the hospitals.
